Today was our family’s annual family reunion get-together and it was wonderful to see all of my aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews. The highlight of the evening centered on my 95-year-old grandfather who had a birthday that day. There were about 20 families present and we all felt it would be easier if each family would purchase or make their own present for my grandfather.
What do you get a man who is turning 95 who, quite frankly, has every sort of material thing imaginable? My five-year-old son suggested we get him a hamster (probably because he wants one), but we had to explain to him that my grandfather has allergies. My daughter, who is sixteen, thought it would be great if we took my 95-year-old feeble grandfather on a trip to Spain followed by a trip to Disney Land, but unless she came into a recent inheritance we knew nothing about, it definitely was not in the family budget. Then at work one day I listened in on a conversation a co-worker of mine was having about the present she bought her husband for his birthday. She went on about how absolutely beautiful the watch she purchased from TW Steel was. When she got of the phone I asked her about it and she told me of the quality and durability of the watches from TW Steel and told me to check it out.
My grandfather spent 50 years repairing clocks of every kind, so I at least thought it was worth a try to look into. The watches at the site were absolutely incredible and when my family presented my grandfather with a TW76 Grandeur Diver’s Men’s Chronograph Watch, his eyes almost popped out of his head he was so delighted. I think we made the right choice.
